Gary Parent, President of Windsor & District Labour Council and Financial Secretary, CAW Local 444, accepted the first Partnership Builder Award at the May 2008 UW-C Conference in Quebec City.  Parent, who has been actively involved with UW-C for more than 25 years, is well respected both as a labour leader and a community leader.  UW-C of Windsor-Essex nominated Parent for this Award, noting his participation is considered essential whenever the community comes together to address difficult social and economic issues.   Parent’s community involvement includes the fields of health, the environment, housing, transportation, public services, and advocacy for public broadcasting.  At the national level, Gary has been of member of the Board of Directors of UWC - CC.  To see his acceptance speech, Click on the link below.
