National Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of United Way of Canada – Centraide Canada is composed of 24 volunteers and one ex-officio voting member representing the Canadian Labour Congress. They serve a three-year term, renewable once, and they can serve longer if a Director becomes an Officer. Directors are recruited by the Governance Committee with proposals from the 120 local UWs-Cs who are members and UWC-CC Board members. The nominees are then presented for approval at United Way of Canada – Centraide Canada's Annual General Meeting. The Board of United Way of Canada – Centraide Canada is a policy board. Its fundamental values are focused on inclusiveness and diversity, integrity and innovation. This philosophy guides their approach to fulfilling their responsibilities, and the operations of United Way of Canada – Centraide Canada.
In 2004, the Board of Directors approved and adopted a Code of Ethics.
